The Ministry of Emergency Situations has completed inspections of crowded places that began after a fire in the Winter Cherry shopping center in Kemerovo.
In total, from March 28 to July 25, about 90,000 objects were checked, where more than 280,000 violations of fire safety requirements were revealed, the press service of the department said.
Based on the results of inspections, the Ministry of Emergency Situations prepared amendments to the legislation that increase administrative fines for violation of fire safety requirements. It also provides for the possibility for up to 90 days to suspend the operation of an object where fire safety is violated.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations proposes to apply such measures of influence immediately, and not in case of repeated violation, as provided for by the current legislation.
“Currently, the bill is undergoing the procedure of coordination with the federal executive authorities, after which it will be amended taking into account the proposals received,” the press service said.
