Guardians of the Galaxy cast write letter in support of director James Gunn fired for tweets
The Guardians of the Galaxy cast has written an open letter in support of director James Gunn, who was fired over offensive tweets he made several years ago.
In the statement, the actors note that they are “shocked” by the director’s dismissal and hope to work with him again in the future.
The letter was signed by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel and the director's brother Sean Gunn.
James is unlikely to be the last good man to be publicly vilified. With the country increasingly politically divided, it's safe to say that situations like this will continue. Hopefully, though, Americans of all political persuasions will stop using herd mentality as a weapon.
- Previously, only Dave Bautista and Sean Gunn from the Guardians of the Galaxy cast had spoken out in support of Gunn. Pratt and Saldana supported the director indirectly, without naming him.
