President Vladimir Putin awarded medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, to three employees of the Yamal LNG plant. The corresponding decree was published on the legal information portal.

For their great contribution to the development of the fuel and energy complex and many years of conscientious work, the General Director of Yamal LNG Evgeniy Kot, the chief power engineer - head of the department Airat Girfanov and the head of the department Roman Guryanov were awarded.

Yamal LNG is Novatek’s first gas liquefaction plant in the Russian Arctic with a design capacity of 16.5 million tons of LNG per year. The first technological stage of the plant began shipping finished products in December 2017. The second stage is planned to be launched in early August.

Yamal LNG is 50.1% owned by Novatek, 20% of shares are owned by the French Total and Chinese CNPC, and another 9.9% is owned by the Chinese investment fund Silk Road Fund.
