The death of journalists in the Central African Republic

The clarification of the circumstances of the murder of Russian journalists Orkhan Dzhemal, Alexander Rastorguev and Kirill Radchenko continues. So far, it is not completely clear who is responsible for their death (the CAR authorities lay it on the rebels), who was responsible for their security (the route seems to have been agreed with the UN) and why they were killed at all. Relatives and colleagues of the victims began raising funds to help their families.

The deceased journalists came to the Central African Republic to shoot a film about the participation of Russian PMCs in the conflict in this country. According to press reports, the mercenaries have been in Central Africa for at least several months . Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that “there is no sensation in the presence of Russian instructors in the CAR,” but did not answer the question why she equates military instructors with employees of private companies.

It became known about new cases of torture in Russian prisons. In Vladimir, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against six employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service for torture in a pre-trial detention center - they became known during the trial, when one prisoner was tried for the murder of another in the detention center. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation submitted a new application to the Moscow City Electoral Committee for a referendum on the retirement age.
