Journalist Orkhan Dzhemal, director Alexander Rastorguev and cameraman Kirill Radchenko were killed in the Central African Republic, where they came to shoot a report on the activities of the Russian Wagner brigade.
The day before their death, they were at the base of the "Wagnerites", where, however, they were not allowed in, demanding accreditation from the native Ministry of Defense. The next day, the journalists traveled 400 km to meet with a certain "fixer" from the UN. They were driven by a driver recommended by the "fixer". They had expensive equipment with them and eight and a half thousand bucks in cash.
They were killed 23 km from the town of Sibut.
The driver is alive and well and not even injured. He willingly showed up to the authorities and on the air. He claims that the car was ambushed, that all three whites were shot, but he survived and managed to escape.
This story is unbelievable.
Do you imagine this picture?
Africa. Road. A car on which they begin to shoot from an ambush. And now the passengers are dead, but the driver is alive.
Actually, they shoot the driver first. If the driver survived, then he led the passengers into a trap.
But go further.
The next day, the driver revealed startling details: it turns out that the three whites were killed by ten people in turbans who spoke Arabic! But he, the driver, managed to escape!
What? People in turbans? Who only speak Arabic? Why not aliens? I would appreciate the driver’s testimony if he said: “Islamist militants” - they really exist in the CAR, but here are the people in turbans - excuse me (maybe they took their passport with them)!
Can you imagine what it is - the Central African Republic? Savannah, savannah, local tribes, the price of a human life is zero, and here in the middle of this native life ten proudly swim up - and all in turbans!
Imagine: the passengers are dead, the driver is alive (it doesn't matter why). The passengers are white people. Their death will certainly raise many questions. A storm will rise, the UN Shmoon will arrive, the embassy will stand on its horns and demand that the guilty be punished.
What does the driver do in this case? That's right - it disappears. Dissolves among fellow tribesmen: go and understand - either they killed, or they stole - there are no traces. After all, it is clear to the driver that the first person to be suspected of complicity is himself. Immediately the police will seize and demand half of the loot. Moreover, the “embassy of big white cones” will demand to find the perpetrators. Why look for them? Here he is, one of them.
That is, the driver knew that the authorities would not pester him?
And by the way: why kill at all? The driver is alive, which means the car has been stopped. Passengers are disembarked, which cannot happen without the knowledge of the driver. Why not take hostages and ask for a million dollars?
I don't know if this murder was accidental or not.
But I know one thing for sure. All the Russian mass media broadcast the news: “Russian journalists were killed by Arabs”, “there were ten Arabs in turbans”.
So why repeat the words of a man who, almost certainly, lured the film crew into a trap? After all, it is strange to consider a probable accomplice in the murder as a source of information. <…>
And as for that, was it ordinary banditry in a country where the price of human life is cheaper than in the Donbass, or was it our "military advisers" who gave the go-ahead, it will become clear quickly.
If the "Wagnerites", angry that they, too, are under suspicion, demand the extradition of the driver, shake out the names and find the killers, then it will be one story. And if the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is looking for "ten Arabs in turbans", then the story will be different.
