Was there a pork plague in the Tyumen region? Locals do not believe, suspect competitors. How the village survives after the closure of the main enterprise
In November last year, at a pig -breeding enterprise, Kolos LLC in the village of Shorokhovo, the Tyumen region, recorded an outbreak of African pigs of pigs (ASF). Only on the farm were destroyed by more than 16 thousand pigs and hundreds of more animals - within a radius of five kilometers from the epicenter, in the personal subsidiary farms of the villagers. The consequences turned out to be fatal for both business and residents: quarantine, removal of meat products, murder of pigs. Former employees of the pig farm had to look for a new job, and half of the inhabitants of Shorokhov - a different way of existence. Without pigs. After all, you can’t keep animals until the end of 2018.
From Shorokhov to Tyumen 60 kilometers-one and a half to two hours by bus. In the morning he leaves at 6.20, which means Maria Voitovich, who in the spring got a nurse in the city, needs to get up at five. Previously, an hour went on a milking, but Zorka broke his leg, I had to score. Now you could get up later, but - a habit. For the road, you can have time to chat with the neighbors who, like Maria, are forced to go to work - husbands were reduced from the largest enterprise in the village of Kolos.
Street in Shorokhov, on which Voitovichi live photos: Nikita Zimin“After the clinical complex closed, everything went by itself. The younger children are abandoned: they are either in the garden or at home with a middle son. What they do is incomprehensible. Shaggy, dirty. The heart is bleeding. My husband and I are not at home all the time. He is on hacks, I am a orderly in Tyumen. I get money and pay the bills right there. We see no money or children, ”says Maria, only returning from work.
Maria and Alexander Voitovichi are married for 19 years. For the past eight years, the husband worked in the “complex” by a collapse - removed the meat from the bone and cut it. Working work: completed everything, you can go home - engage in economy. He brought 18-20 thousand rubles. Something managed to earn money at a construction site and on hacks. Maria brought up four children and led the farm: pigs and cows, from milk - cottage cheese and cheese. Excess meat and milk were sold.
“We had enough. They thought that we would slowly change the gates, make repairs in the house, raise the bath, grow 10 bulls and take a new machine. But this plague turned the whole world. Repair in the house has nothing more to do, like a bathhouse. They took pigs, we ate bulls. They managed to put only the gates beautiful, forged, on brick pillars. Here, lenders call, they demand money for them - but we do not have it. These gates are across my throat now, ”says Maria.
After the pig farm closed, they lived in reserves for six months: they ate the meat that they managed to freeze, baked bread, the cow was with the help, until I broke my leg, I had to score. Maria went to work a few months ago, when one evening it turned out that there was literally nothing to feed the family.
“The husband worked at the complex until the last. Together with other men, he destroyed pigs. The girls drove good piglets to them and roared. This is not 24 pigs, like ours. Thousands, thousands of pigs. A terrible picture. I remember how Sasha came with tears in his eyes and said: “That's it. "Complex" was buried. " But even in the 90s he was not closed. The management did not have money for salaries - they gave bread, meat. Yes, there were difficult times, but we survived. The youth then all the time in Shorokhovo came to work, stayed, married. "
Maria Voitovich Photo: Nikita ZiminMaria is not clear how to lose such an enterprise and bring hundreds of people to despair.
“After the ASF, they said everything in the village, but more often, that a new pig farm was opened in the Nizhnetavdinsky district, which did not need competition with Shorokhovo,” Maria waves his hand.
Simultaneously with the work on the destruction of pigs on a pig farm, veterinarians went along the village. They went into every yard and took living pigs. Weighed and sent for destruction.
“When people in white costumes with a tractor walked along the streets, it was scary. They warned that pigs would be taken away, but when it came to this, it seemed that the war had come. We were occupied, the territory was closed and quarantine was declared. At the entrance and exit, the cars were checked, they were treated with solutions. Relatives and acquaintances asked to refrain from coming to us, ”recalls Maria.
When they announced a quarantine, Voitovichi first decided that they would hide the piglet, and the rest of the animals would be looted and frozen meat. Maria did not worry about the health of pigs, she saw that the family was in normal condition. But the inspections, fines and sanctions were frightened and passed the meat.
By order of the Government of the Tyumen region, the residents of Shorokhov compensated the cost of pigs. The Voitovichi family received the promised 130 rubles per kilogram of the Live weight of Pig. Another 30 thousand rubles were allocated for each yard where animals were kept. Alexander received payments for reduction from the pig farm. Maria admits that the money dispersed, but there was no farm left: "If only one pig was growing for us, everything worked out, but who had a whole economy, his whole life has changed."
Maria has not yet admitted her husband, but already decided - in a week he would leave work, she will raise children.
“I'll make a surprise. How to break through - I don’t know yet. We want to work for ourselves: to lead the farm, take cows of more, pigs, horses, goats and rams. Cook cheeses, cultivate the earth. Maybe we’ll even take the family estate. I have four men in my family - this is such a power. ”
Local residents say that at general meetings during the quarantine of the power of the Iset district, to which the village belongs, they promised to help find a new job to almost 200 employees of the former pig farm. And they also apparently claim: they did not receive any help with employment.
“There was a saying: you don’t want to study, go to the complex pigs to twist the tails. After all, ordinary working men worked there. And women? The children were inflated, where to go? Yes, at least on the complex by the operator, clean, feed pigs. The pigkomplex as a spare airfield, ”recalls Maria.
Voitovichi are looking for vacancies around the area. But even where there is work, the residents of Shorokhov are denied it.
Most of the girls after the complex got a job in Tyumen as a nurse. Men also searched for work in the city, but it is harder with it. As they say in the village, the bulk of the young guys “threw” the family and went to work with watch. It is believed that this is a very successful option. Who was lucky smaller - settled in city shops with loaders and handymen. Someone continues to look for work and eight months after the ASF. But in the area almost no one could find a job.
The head of the rural settlement Shorokhovo Larisa Stolova believes that there is no particular problem. In the administration, she has been working for 27 years, the last four - as a leader. In her farm, there were no more pigs to quarantine, she kept only chickens.
“The village is in one state: people are looking for work. How many times have discussed this issue at general meetings: villagers are offered work on the road, in the Isetsky district. To many, of course, it is inconvenient to work outside the village. But whoever wanted was employed. There was no such thing that the Shorokhovskys were not taken to other enterprises in the area. ”
Larisa Stoleva says that until December 2018, the inhabitants of the settlement should not be kept pigs. Those who bred pigs in Shorokhov were the majority - many lived at the expense of personal subsidiary farms. Instead, people now start chickens, take cattle. But what will happen to the enterprise - the head does not know.
Piring Pig Enterprise "Complex" in Shorokhov Photo: Nikita Zimin“We have 1,200 people of the working population. 174 of them worked at the complex LLC. Is it a lot from the inhabitants of the whole village? Of course, there are significantly people remained on the street. And the pig farm brought taxes to the budget, albeit small. We have three large enterprises left in our village - the Absolut MPC, Zerinovoy LLC and LLC Li Libra. Everyone works. Everything is fine with them. ”
They burned the last animals on the pig farm LLC Kolos at the end of November last year. The cattle burrum was arranged just a few meters from the enterprise - the mound was fenced off with a wooden fence with a “Biothermal pit” sign.
The enterprise LLC KOLLS appeared in Shorokhov in the late 1960s. Former prisoners from all over the country were brought to build a large complex. Someone else was serving a sentence and was transferred to the settlement, someone was reduced by someone. One of these was 72-year-old Boris Novikov.
“With Brezhnev, people were sent to the construction sites of the national economy. And I just had an emergency article. I remember that I only came from the army, the boss in the car was driving, people ran out onto the road, I spun the steering wheel, traveled them around, and the boss killed. Well, what will you do. He sat in prison for more than a year, and sent to Shorokhovo. Then he was baptized, married and stayed, ”says Boris.
For future experts in Shorokhov, wagons were installed, they began to build houses nearby. The village grew quickly.
“So many people worked on the farm! About 20 thousand pigs were held. And this is only the first stage. I remember that the former first secretary of the Tyumen regional committee of the CPSU Boris Shcherbina came to us. He asked to release more meat, for this he sent refrigerators on heavy trucks, drove the cars. Beauty, only people did not have money to buy it all. But slowly we got used to it. I, as a driver, have received an apartment, I still live in it, ”says Boris and recalls that working on a pig farm was more prestigious than in the state farm - a free schedule and a good salary.”
Boris has been working in the city for 10 years - a carpenter in one of the regional hospitals.
“At the end of November I go to work, and they say to me:“ Wait, uncle. Who is you, where are you going? " They asked to open the trunk, checked if there is meat. Then, at the exit from Shorokhovo, a checkpoint with the police appeared. So I learned about the plague in the "Complex". "
Boris does not hide that he had waited only six months and took pigs for meat - he is not ready to give 400 rubles per kilo of pork on the market.
“He took two piglets, although it is forbidden before the end of the year. Let someone try to come and take them from me, with a shovel meeting. I must say that private property - do not have the right to enter. We were promised that in the village there would be an enterprise in the place of the pig farm. Not pigs, so chickens, cockerels or other living creatures will appear. That people will have work. But there is nothing: neither work nor the complex. I do not believe anyone else. "
Signs on the fence of a biothermal pit in Shorokhov, near the pig -breeding enterprise "Complex" Photo: Nikita ZiminThe pigkomplex today seems lifeless. At the entrance to the building, two alleys of sawn poplars stick out. Locals unanimously say that it will be impossible to resume the work of the complex: nothing left of the workshops.
“There is nothing inside the workshops. Everyone was taken out on trucks late at night so that people would not see and were not indignant, but if something in the village can be hidden. Everything, there is nowhere to drive pigs. The bare walls are standing, no cells, no sieves, ”says Alexander.
His friends, like many in the village, believe that the plague could not appear at the enterprise just like that.
“Our complex has prevented someone,” they say.
Meanwhile, the head of the Tyumen region veterinary department, Vadim Schulz, said that on November 9, 2017, eight samples of Patmaterial from the pigs Kolos LLC in the village of Shorokhovo, Iset District, were sent for examination. Two days later, the ASF virus genome was detected in them. On November 11, 20 samples of the pathmaterial from 20 corpses of pigs belonging to the pig farm were selected. The examination confirmed the diagnosis: African swine plague. By November 20, all animals were destroyed.
Gennady goes to the gate from somewhere in the depths of the courtyard. Behind him - strong buildings - flocks for animals. On the left, the car, on the right is a two -story log house. Before the plague, there were several pigs in his farm. In the village they say that 20 pieces. Gennady himself did not count, but I am sure that less.
First of all, Gennady shows the house - tall and solid.
“How could I build such a house? For a salary of 25 thousand and with three children? This is the whole farm, the car and drank. ”
Gennady, before the flash of ASF, also kept pigs in his photo: Nikita ZiminHe held animals for sale and for himself. Of the 50 kilo pork, forty pork went to the market. Gennady assumes that if the ASF had not happened, now he would have two sows, a worker and heads of 15 animals. Reluctantly recalls the moment when the veterinarians came for animals:
“I was waiting for them at the crossroads. Once such a plague has gone that now to do. Many did not believe that the disease came to Shorokhovo. But I cannot determine by my animals whether they are sick or not. It’s a sin to complain to us, they paid money for pigs, they gave funds for the farm. Immediately bought cows, now I will deal with cattle. And what flocks and grain with hay to disappear! Yes, and we cannot without animals. Of course, we have suffered, but a person can cope with many. We’ll deal with this for sure. ”
The last house from a rough dark beam on the exit from the old part of the village belongs to Natalya Kosenova and her husband Vladimir. Both have worked for many years at the complex by a foreman and a loader.
Behind a low fence, disassembled buildings are flocks and pens. Natalia leaves the gate and tries to wipe his hands from the ground. Despite the heat, it has a jacket with embroidery on the back of the “complex”.
“You know, people from the district passed by the bus by bus and said that Shorokhovo needed to fence out of the world. Thank you for not offering burning yet. Everyone shied away from us when we found out where we were. And they didn’t take it to work if you say that the Shorokhovs. Like lepered. "
Natalia recalls that in the fall, the pigs in the complex began to blue ears:
“Animals were treated for reproductive-reservation of pigs. We have never seen any spots, signs of plague. When they drove domestic pigs, the uterus was grunted. We immediately selected pink piglets and handed over. They were thrust into the bags, and the animals were squealing, screaming. It’s scary as it was. The doctors were in shock, they came to measure the dead animals, and we expelled them alive, healthy. ”
Natalya Kosenova photo: Nikita ZiminFor monetary compensation, Natalya took two cows. Of course, I would like pigs, but so far it will not be sure that it is possible, they will not appear in the yard.
“In the spring, the pig can be sold in three thousand. If we had ten, 30 thousand would have earned them, and this is two months of work at the “complex”. The money is good. But now neither pigs nor that "complex". As the plague happened, I try not to go to the pig farm in the pig farm. Once they drove past by car, I look at my native enterprise, and there is not a soul. There are no pigs, there are no people, there are no cars ... It is impossible to look at it. ”
