Maxim Shevchenko: an independent group of journalists is investigating the deaths of Russians in Central Africa
Journalist Maxim Shevchenko said that an independent group of Russian journalists would conduct their own investigation into the murder of Orkhan Dzhemal, Alexander Rastorguev and Kirill Radchenko in Central Africa. From the words of Shevchenko on the air of Ekho Moskvy, it is not completely clear whether there are already any agreements on the creation of this group.
As follows from Shevchenko's words, the investigation should be carried out by "a group of independent military journalists, professionals with combat experience, including those who served in the Armed Forces," among whom may be friends of Orkhan Dzhemal and other victims.
Shevchenko called on the Russian authorities to support the creation of the group and noted that Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who financed the trip of the dead to the Central African Republic, "is creating his own group," into which "journalists are already being recruited." Shevchenko did not specify whether the group he spoke about would cooperate with Khodorkovsky's team.
“I want this to be an official journalistic investigation. This is the task of Russia, to find the one who ordered the murder, ”Shevchenko told Interfax .
“We will conduct our own investigation. <... And we will certainly get to the bottom of who was behind the murder. <…> I think we need to go there, we need to go to other parts of the world,” Shevchenko said.
