The police of the UN mission in Central Africa cannot perform autopsies on the bodies of murdered Russian journalists due to the lack of necessary specialists. This is reported by Mediazona, citing a source familiar with the investigation.

The publication does not specify whether this means that the autopsy will not be carried out on the territory of the Central African Republic. The UN police are participating in the investigation along with the authorities of the Central African Republic and Russia.

The bodies of the dead journalists are scheduled to be returned to Russia on August 4.
