Parkhomenko told members of the PMC that during his arrest he was “hit on the floor,” but the story was interrupted by Nikolai Ivanov, deputy head of the Regime and Security Department.
Parkhomenko tried to explain the reason for the hunger strike with the phrase “as a result of the actions of the investigator, they began to poison my family,” but Ivanov again interrupted the man.
The 59-year-old former serviceman of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet has been in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center for 20 months. He was detained on November 22, 2016 on charges of high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). According to the FSB statement, on the instructions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, he collected information about the activities of the fleet. According to official data, Parkhomenko resigned from the Black Sea Fleet back in 2005, however, the former commander of the fleet, Petro Svyatashev, stated that Parkhomenko transferred from the Ukrainian Navy in 2014 serve in the Russian fleet in the intelligence propaganda department of one of the aviation units, then quit and worked in the civil service in a military unit.
