
The flood waters, which caused the largest flood in the Transbaikalia during observations, damaged roads in 19 regions of the region. According to preliminary estimates of experts, the repair will take at least 2 years.
The damage to the road industry of the region, according to preliminary data, reaches 1 billion rubles. In total, 50 bridges and 156 kilometers of local and regional roads suffered from water, said Konstantin Suzdalnitsky, deputy minister of territorial development of Transbaikalia on road transport issues.

On July 11, 2860 people were evacuated from Chita, 18 country cooperatives and 14 streets were flooded in the city. The administration of Chita admitted that they did not warn about the consequences of increasing the river level in Transbaikalia of all residents of the city. This flood has become the largest in the history of observations. During the passage of the flood in 60 settlements in the territory of 15 municipalities, 839 residential buildings were flooded.
