The head of Bakulin Motors Group (BMG) Alexei Bakulin called rumors and the “author of the author” of the publication on the closure of the project of unmanned vehicles Matreeshka. According to Bakulin, the bankruptcy of the company "there can be no question."

Bakulin explained that the plant has many counterparties, and there are disagreements with one of them that develop into claims, but this is a “normal situation”. The company, according to him, continues to work stably and produce buses.

The project was really suspended for a number of performers who were responsible for certain types of work on a contractual basis and could not reach the specified indicators, but it is not worthwhile to associate interaction with several partners with the entire project.

Bakulin claims that work on drones continues, and due to restrictions for unmanned vehicles in Russian legislation, the project intends to enter foreign markets, where "these issues have already been partially resolved." He did not specify exactly where the company was gathering, but noted that new partners were already attracted to work.

Now BMG is working on the Matreshka 2.0 project. In it there will be a place for the operator and “controls”, as well as the windshield. Bakulin promised to show the prototype of the vehicle in October 2018 at the Busworld Russia exhibition. He added that the development of the project is fully at the company's funds.

On August 6, Drom.ru reported that the manufacturer of Matreshka unmanned electric buses closed due to the lack of the necessary infrastructure and laws. According to the publication, the company has accumulated debts to partners and received a bankruptcy claim.
