The ministry calls the US actions a clear example of Washington's continuation of the practice of violating the UN Security Council resolution and violating the norms of international law.

The Foreign Ministry does not agree with the position of the American leadership that the “nuclear deal” is not being implemented. The IAEA regularly confirms that Iran strictly adheres to its obligations, the Foreign Ministry said.

“The international community should not allow such significant achievements of multilateral diplomacy to be sacrificed to American aspirations to settle political scores with Iran, especially on issues that are not related to the JCPOA,” the Foreign Ministry emphasizes. “ As many years of experience show, it will not be possible to obtain concessions from Iran through pressure methods.” At the same time, the Foreign Ministry is confident that the JCPOA “has a sufficient margin of safety” and the parties to the deal are quite capable of overcoming the difficulties that have arisen.

On August 7, the United States restored sanctions against Iran, lifted in 2015 during the presidency of Barack Obama after the signing of the JCPOA. The participants in the “nuclear deal” were the USA, Russia, China, Great Britain and France. After the US leaves the deal, the remaining countries intend to adhere to the agreements.
