The Ministry of Justice added the BugulmaUltras fan association to the list of prohibited organizations

The Ministry of Justice included the public association of football fans “Sector 16” of the Bugulminsky municipal district of Tatarstan on the list of prohibited non-profit organizations (NPOs), according to the department’s website.

The Ministry of Justice clarifies that “Sector 16” also bears the names “S-16” and BugulmaUltras. The association of fans was banned based on the decision of the Bugulminsky City Court of Tatarstan dated May 28.

According to the decision published on the court’s website, the association consisted of 10-15 active participants “adhering to right-wing radical nationalist views and supporting the ideology of fascism.”

The Bugulma City Court also noted that the members of the association wore the same uniform - camouflage trousers, sports sneakers of a certain brand and jeans with cuffs. In addition, Sector 16 participants used pyrotechnics during matches, painted walls and displayed posters with the symbols of the association and the football club, and also held “fixed fights” with other fans.

The court decision states that the head of the association was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism, that is, desecration of buildings and structures in public places based on ideological, racial, national hatred) because of runic symbols painted on a building in a public place.

Sector 16 became the third public association of football fans included in the list of prohibited NGOs. According to the list on the Ministry of Justice website, the department previously banned the Kirov regional public organization “Fans Club of the Football Club “Dynamo” Kirov” and the Samara organization “TOYS”, which is also called TOYS and The Opposition Young Supporters . In total, there are 67 organizations on the list.
