In Kurgan, a man was sentenced to two years for allegedly calling for extremism in a telegram

In Kurgan, local resident Evgeniy Lesovoy was sentenced to two years in a penal colony for messages in one of the Artpodgotovka chats. This was reported on the website of the regional Investigative Committee.

The Kurgan City Court found the man guilty of public calls for extremist activities via the Internet (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, on November 2, he joined a public telegram group associated with Artpodgotovka, and until November 5, he wrote texts that contained “propaganda and calls for mass riots, information aimed at inciting hatred and enmity, as well as calls to carry out extremist activities."

Evgeniy Lesovoy did not admit his guilt. The man was also banned from administering websites for two years.
