Director Dmitry Brusnikin died

The actor and director, screenwriter and teacher Dmitry Brusnikin died. He was the artistic director of the Practice Theater. Information about the death of the director was confirmed by the theater press service.

Brusnikin was 60 years old. He was a professor at the Moscow Art Theater School, since 1982 he was an actor of the Moscow Art Theater and staged performances in this theater. Under his leadership, an independent troupe “Brusnikin's Workshop” was created, which consists of his students and graduates. His wife, actress and director Marina Brusnikina, also works in the Moscow Art Theater.

“His departure is a shock and an irreparable loss for the art Theater, the Moscow Art Theater School, numerous“ Brusnikintsev ”, for our entire theater community and everyone who knew and loved Dmitry Vladimirovich,” the MKHT website said.

Brusnikin headed the Practice Theater in May 2018. Formally, the artistic director of the theater, he was appointed August 7, two days before his death (Boris Madzarichbecame the director instead).
