The jealous of Ukrainian ideological purity after the introduction of Svetlana Aleksievich in the "Black Lists". And commentary Aleksiyevich herself

Odessa will not see Svetlana Aleksievich at the Green Theater, who was waiting for so much. Street posters were informed about the upcoming meeting with her, the Green Theater was sold “Bring the Nobel Laureate to Odessa!”, Craudfunding collected money (and collected)-but then Aleksievich was allegedly not entirely expressed at the creative evening in Brooklyn two years ago, and it was entered into the “Peacemaker” database.

They brought it for two hours, then crossed out - but this was enough for several anonymous well -wishers to send threats to her and the organizers, and literally two hours before departure, she recorded a video message with the refusal of the trip. She will now be uncomfortable to perform, she does not want to substitute the theater administration and create risks for the audience - although she emphasizes, she could not say anything anti -Ukrainian in principle: her mother is Ukrainian, and she always feels it.

I just performed in the Green Theater - first with verses, then with the lecture “Stirlitz as a Bender”; These have been almost my best evenings in recent years - the best in terms of absolute goodwill of an understanding, well -read, absolutely native hall, in perfectly accurate reactions, instantly arising dialogue. And I'm very sorry that Odessa and Aleksievich will not see each other.

It would seem, who can interfere with their meeting? Only to those for whom the war is the optimal environment, to those who only bloom in an atmosphere of total distrust and anger.

There are such people on both sides, they rose well in this war, welded on it spiritually and financially. I'm afraid they are becoming too much, because the atmosphere is poisoned, and it must be adapted to it. And the device is precisely expressed in the fact that a person himself begins to throw hatred and suspicion into the atmosphere. It seems to him that this will make him his own, protect him, but this is not so.

On this visit, I first heard about problems with guests of the Green Theater and other sites. And many of my Russian colleagues in answers to questions about Ukraine became not just careful, but completely closed:

-If you can still say something about Russia ... There, you know, they are already offended by anything.

- In principle, they have something to be offended.

“Yes, but they no longer understand who is for them, who is against them.”

This is also an inevitable thing in the war, especially when one side is so clearly stronger and so clearly got into someone else's life. But when you regularly tell you in Ukrainian blogs that all Russians are slaves and all Russian liberals end on the Ukrainian issue ... Especially if you take into account that there are enough of their freaks, including anti -Semites, in the ranks of Ukrainian nationalists ...

There is another feature: nationalists, radicals and President Poroshenko, of course, there is something to criticize for. But Ukrainians are entitled to this, and the Russians, who suffer their monsters and do not pickered, must keep quiet. And even if you do not tolerate your own and have been in opposition to him for a long time, you still suppose to stand in the presence of free Ukrainians: each of the dead on the Maidan costs thousands of useless Russian opposition, whom you can wipe your feet.

So or not so is the subject of a separate dispute, our business is to state the transition of the dialogue to this new level.

Each such remark, each similar breakdown - in personal or Facebook, journalistic or network conversations - gives additional arguments to Russians who declared Ukraine under the lack of state.

Our compatriots, who need peace and preferably all, are halved over Ukraine, over its mass madness and self -delery, disgrace themselves and us before the whole world, and in principle to look back at their opinion should not be worth it.

But to foresee that they use Aleksievich’s lack of removal to Ukraine as another vile argument - it would be worth it. And therefore I want to seriously, with all respect for telling the jealouss of Ukrainian ideological purity: enough, stop, you will harm yourself. From Svetlana Aleksievich will not lose, she performs around the world, she is called among the largest authors of Europe; That she received the Nobel Prize is not so important at all, this prize has long reached the authority, but this year it is not awarded at all, and these intra -Nobel scandals are terribly pleasant to everyone who was not given and will not be given. It’s not a matter in Nobel, but that Aleksievich wrote several books that changed the world that discovered the truth about what they are not talking about.

In the genre opened by her teacher Alesha Adamovich, she created several indisputable masterpieces, and not the “Peacemaker” site to adjust her image. I’ll say more: this year, several artists were not allowed into Ukraine who did not sin in before her - only on the grounds that their performances were announced in the Crimea. Not passed, but were announced! - And that was enough. Last year, Konstantin Raikin, who, if you carefully read his interviews, never told the Ukrainians anything offensive, they thwarted the performance in the same Odessa.

And why should great writers and artists make excuses to unknown censors, whose merits in literature and art are generally unknown?

“I did not say”, “I didn’t mean”, “I didn’t speak there” ... It’s one thing to not let people in Kyiv or Odessa who clearly supported aggression and annexation. Another is to seek out the preposition so as not to let anyone in at all. Who benefits from it? Only to those who, in conditions of this isolation, will be greatly exalted, because there will be no one to compare with. But maintaining isolationism in culture is just the destiny of those who do not withstand competition. I am sure that among true writers and artists, of which there are many in Odessa, the abolition of the visit by Aleksievich just caused indignation: they had something to talk about, and criminal to deprive them of this dialogue, without which the culture is unthinkable.

I understand that the position of the deadly offended is seductive and in some ways comfortable. I also understand that there are more mediocre people than talented, and they need to somehow realize, respect something for something: so they tear off the work of the talented ones, declaring themselves at least like that. And yet, with the most sober understanding of the situation, as well as its reasons, I beg you very much: do not do it anymore. Stop. If after this quite friendly replica you will bring me to some base-honestly, it will not be worse from this. I still speak out of the principle in Odessa for free. True, the green theater pays for the flight. But I love Odessa so much that I can afford to come at my own expense.

- There is no conflict, there was a real stupidity. Some boys brought me on the lists of the Peacemaker site. For what I once wrote: in Ukraine there were policemen. They took part in the executions of the civilian population. They killed Jews.

Yes: I wrote. Yes: there were policemen in Ukraine - who does not know about it? They were in Belarus: I also wrote about this once.

The misunderstanding lasted exactly forty minutes: apparently, more adults and reasonable people read and removed me from the list of the Peacemaker.

But during these forty minutes, thanks to mass media, the news has spread very widely - now it is happening instantly.

And in the same forty minutes, we and I managed to cancel it on August 8, in Odessa on August 8. It was already difficult to replay again: still a big hall, for 800 people.

But this does not mean that I have a conflict with Ukraine: I also have Ukrainian roots, I loved my Ukrainian grandmother very much. Everything is in order in my relationship with the country.

This is what I want to say: do not be ashamed of your genuine past.

This applies to everyone. Ukraine. Belarus. Russia too. We must look at him directly, recognize horror - a cure begins from this.

Look at Germany: what a strong country! They recognized the past of the Third Reich, repented to the world - maybe this is one of the important reasons for their moral health? The same applies to Japan: we remember worse how the Second World War was going on the Pacific Ocean, but there were many terrible pages. The Japanese admitted their past as it was. And again: what a strong country they have today!

I have no and did not have a conflict with Ukraine. There was a misunderstanding. It lasted forty minutes.
