A court in Moscow fined the organizers of a rally against pension reform

The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow fined the organizers of the rally against pension reform Sergei Boyko, Mikhail Chichkov and Oleg Stepanov. This was reported on the website of the Libertarian Party of Russia.

The leader of the rally, Mikhail Chichikov, and the coordinator of Navalny’s Moscow headquarters, Oleg Stepanov, were found guilty under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (violation of the rules of the event by a participant) and each was fined 10 thousand rubles. The Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Russia, Sergei Boyko, was charged with Part 1 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by the organizer of the procedure for holding an event) and was also fined 10 thousand rubles.

The protocol that was drawn up by the police who detained Boyko says that he “committed a violation of the order of the event, which was expressed in the failure to take measures to stop the violation of the order of the event by its participant, who spoke from the stage, while shouting slogans: “Putin is a thief!” do not correspond to the stated theme of the event.” We are talking about Stepanov’s speech at the rally.

• After the end of the rally against pension reform, which took place on July 29 on Sakharov Avenue, Boyko, Chichkov and Stepanov were detained by police. They were taken to the Krasnoselskoye police station and a report was drawn up.
• A bill on a gradual increase in the country’s retirement age starting from 2019 was submitted to the State Duma. A Change.org petition against the reform has already collected almost three million signatures.
• On July 28 and 29, protests against raising the retirement age took place in several Russian cities.
