The court in Simferopol extended the arrest of those involved in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case

The Supreme Court of Crimea extended the arrest of Teymur Abdullayev, Emil Dzhemadenov, Rustem Ismailov and Uzeir Abdullayev, defendants in the Simferopol case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, for a month. It is reported by "Crimea. Realii” with reference to their defender Emil Kurbedinov.

“The arrest was extended until 9/11. We said that it was illegal, that it was a politically motivated extension and that it was a criminal case itself. But the court decided to extend the arrest, ”the publication quotes Kurbedinov as saying.

The day before, a court in Simferopol extended the arrest until September 11 of Ayder Saledinov, who is accused in the same case.

• Aider Saledinov, Uzeir Abdullayev, Rustem Ismailov and Emil Dzhemadenov are accused of participating in the activities of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), Teymur Abdullayev of organizing the activities of a cell (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) . This is the fourth case against alleged members of Hizb ut-Tahrir initiated on the territory of Crimea.
• All five defendants were detained and arrested in November 2016 after a series of searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars. In December of the same year, Saledinov, Ismailov and Uzeyir Abdullayev stated that they were beaten by FSB officers while being transported to the investigation.
• Hizb ut-Tahrir is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. Terrorism cases have been opened in different regions of the country, while members of the cells of the organization are accused and sentenced to various terms in a strict regime colony only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and recruited new members.

According to a number of experts, Hizb ut-Tahrir was unlawfully recognized as a terrorist organization, since its members in Russia did not prepare or carry out terrorist acts.
