Protesters demanded the resignation of the cabinet formed by the Social Democratic Party. He was accused of corruption, the inability to ensure high salaries and attempts to weaken the judiciary in the country.
In general, the protests passed peacefully. At the same time, it was noted that some demonstrators threw stones and bottles into the gendarmes. The security forces themselves stated that there were groups of provocateurs.
Acceleration began at night. The gendarmes were used against the demonstrators of the waterometer and tear gas. Many peaceful protesters were beaten by security forces.
Of the gendarmes, as they say in the publication, only two were injured.
Anti -government demonstrations are also held in other cities of Romania. Excesses at these promotions are not reported.
President Klaus Johannes criticized the actions of the security forces. “I sharply condemn the rude intervention of the gendarmerie, which completely does not correspond to the behavior of most people in the square,” he said. “The Minister of the Interior (Carmen Dan. - Ed.) Should immediately explain the reason for such actions.”
