Investigators from the Altai Territory are conducting an investigation into the fact that a schoolchild was injured during a game using a so-called bungee rope. The victim was taken to the hospital with an upper limb amputation.
“On the afternoon of August 10, 2018, near a reservoir in the village of Maralikha, Charysh district, three teenagers were jumping into the river from a so-called bungee rope tied to a tree. At some point, the hand of a 13-year-old boy fell into a loop at the end of the rope, as a result of which her mechanical amputation occurred,” reports the official website of the regional department of the RF IC.
An investigation was launched into this fact by the Aleisky Interdistrict Investigation Department. The injured child was taken by air ambulance helicopter to a medical facility in the regional center.
“The investigation will have to find out the circumstances under which the minor was seriously injured, as well as the reasons for the children being in places not designated for swimming,” the investigative agency concluded.
