The Meshchansky Court of Moscow arrested the leader of the Left Front, Sergei Udaltsov, for 30 days, Interfax reports.
He was found guilty of repeated violation of the rules for holding mass events.
Udaltsov was detained on the afternoon of August 14. According to him, the police said that on the day of the rally against pension reform in Moscow, he organized another, unsanctioned event, at which he "destroyed portraits of people who looked like members of the Russian government."
