Head of the Altai Investigative Committee: the testimony of two students was not the basis for criminal cases for pictures

The testimony of two students of the law faculty of the Altai branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy (RANEPA) was not the basis for criminal cases of inciting hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code) against two residents of Barnaul - Maria Motuznaya and Daniil Markin. This was stated in an interview with Amico.ru by the head of the Investigative Committee for the Altai Territory Evgeny Dolgalev.

“Nothing depends on the girls and they didn’t “knock” on anyone. In one case, they acted as witnesses, in another as witnesses,” Dolgalev said. “They looked that these pictures really exist, confirmed what is depicted there, put their signatures - and that’s it.”

He also noted that at the time of the initiation of criminal cases, they were not yet students of the Altai branch of the RANEPA.

Recall that the case against a resident of Barnaul, Maria Motuznaya, became known at the end of July - she herself tweeted that she was accused in the case of extremism for memes on a religious theme, as well as for memes about blacks, which she saved on her old page "In contact with". The trial of Maria Motuzna began on August 6, the next hearing will take place on August 15.

On May 8, they came to her apartment with a search, confiscated her home computer and telephone, after which they took her for interrogation, where she confessed out of fright. Later, Motuznaya stated that students of the Altai branch of the RANEPA, Daria Isaenko and Anastasia Bitner, wrote applications against her.

After Motuznaya published their names, they, according to her, wrote another statement about threats against her. A few days later, it became known about the second Barnaul resident, Daniil Markin, who was charged with a similar charge of inciting hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code) and insulting the feelings of believers (Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code). As it turned out, the same two girls also wrote a statement to him.

At the moment, both of them are included in the current list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring.
