Eduard Nikolaevich Uspensky was born in 1937 in Yegoryevsk (Moscow Region), graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute (1961), worked at the Second Moscow Instrument -Machine Plant. Since 1960, he printed poems and feuilletons in pop collections, the newspaper Week and the journal Crocodile, in 1965, together with Felix Kamov, he headed the author’s group of student pop-satirical theater of the MAI TV, and since the mid-1960s he wrote works for children.
In 1966, a fabulous story “Crocodile Gena and His Friends” was released, according to the scenarios of the Assumption Multiplier, Roman Kachanov, the puppet cartoons “Crocodile Gena” (1969), “Cheburashka”, “Capoklyak” (1974), “Cheburashka went to school” (1983). Together with Kachanov, Assumption wrote the plays “Cheburashka and his friends” (1970) and “Vacation of the Crocodile Genes” (1974). In the 2000s, animation films about Cheburashka were shot in Japan.
Based on the storyteller, “Uncle Fedor, Dog and Cat” (1974), director Vladimir Popov shot the cartoons “Three of Prostokvashino” (1978), “Vacations in Prostokvashino” (1980) and “Winter in Prostokvashino” (1984).
Also, among the works of Assumption, fairy tales, including “down the Magic River” (1972), “Warranty men” (1975), “Clowns School” (1983), “The Kolobok is following the trail” (1987), poetry collections, the historical novel “False Dmitry the Second, Real” (1999).
The writer's works are translated into 25 languages, performances are staged according to his scenarios and works, films were shot for children and about 60 cartoons, including Antoshka (1969), “Red, Red, Konopaty” (1971), “About Sidorova Vova” (1985), “The investigation lead Koloboks” (1986-1987).
In addition, in the 1970s, the Assumption was the author and screenwriter of the Radionanya radio program and the television program of Abvgdiek, in the 1990s he led the musical program “Ships entered our harbor”, in 1999-2011-the television program of the same name.
PS Farewell to Eduard Uspensky is appointed at 11:00 on August 18 in the Central House of Writers, the funeral will take place at the Troekurovsky cemetery, Interfax reports.
