The leadership of VKontakte promises to publish the “general statistics of requests” that come from the authorities and concern users data. This was reported by the Russian BBC service.
“We plan to make the process more transparent and share the general statistics of requests,” said representatives of the social network. However, they did not specify when the statistics will be available, as well as what kind of information it will contain. Whether the social network will publish specific requests of investigators and authorities is also unknown.
Earlier, VKontakte opposed the unreasonable persecution of users for reposts and memes and promised in the near future to introduce additional attractions of the privacy of accounts. The company's managing director Andrei Rogozov promised that soon the users would have the opportunity to make access to the page completely private, leaving her accessible only for friends.
