
The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included in the register of foreign agents the St. Petersburg non -profit organization "Youth Human Rights Group". This was reported on the website of the department.
NPO is headed by activist Maxim Ivantsov - a school teacher who opposed the discrimination of LGBT. For 10 years he taught geography and social studies at school No. 216. In 2014, Ivanov said that unknown people called to school and demanded him to dismiss him, and letters were sent to the students, in which they called him a “pervert”. As a result, Ivantsov left school.
The Ministry of Justice reports that the "Youth Human Rights Group" received money from the Netherlands. The register of the department also says that the organization was engaged in the “formation of socio-political views and beliefs”, conducted public debates among schoolchildren and “involved minor citizens in political activity”.
