Rossiya Airlines has invited foreign pilots to work for the first time

Rossiya Airlines has announced for the first time that it is recruiting foreign pilots, RBC reports, citing a representative of the carrier.

"Russia" is recruiting foreigners for the position of aircraft commanders; they are offered a salary of up to 500 thousand rubles per month and a one-time bonus of the same amount.

The airline has a quota for recruiting 40 foreign pilots , a representative of Rossiya told RBK; he did not specify how many foreigners the carrier plans to recruit.

A source at the airline told RBC that the invitation of foreign pilots is due to a shortage of personnel.

There are currently only a few foreign pilots working for Russian airlines. Representatives of S7 and Utair, which are among the top 5 largest national air carriers, told RBC that they each have one foreign [aircraft commander].

• Aeroflot had previously announced a recruitment of foreign pilots. In June 2017, the company complained about a mass exodus of personnel to Asia. Aeroflot later announced an increase in pilot salaries to 650 thousand rubles, but this amount is still significantly lower than the salaries of pilots of Chinese companies, who receive up to 25 thousand dollars a month.
