Ildar Dadin was detained in the Bryansk court

The Bryansk Regional Court detained Ildar Dadin, who came to consider an appeal to extend the arrest of Denis Bakholdina. Bakholdin’s lawyer Svetlana Sidorkina reported this to OVD-Info.

According to Sidorkina, Dadin was detained for shouting slogans during the trial. A protocol on violation of order during the court hearing is drawn up against him.

• Denis Bakholdin is a well-known person among activists in the capital; he participated in monthly actions in support of political prisoners within the framework of “Strategy-6”, and in anti-war actions against the policy of the Russian authorities towards Ukraine.
• In March 2017, the police detained Denis Bakholdin. He was accused of participating in the Right Sector, recognized as an extremist organization (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code). The activist said that after his arrest, he was handcuffed to a radiator for 12 hours and beaten on his legs and head, demanding a confession. According to investigators, Bakholdin left for Ukraine in 2014, where he joined the Right Sector and took part in its activities.
• From the moment of his arrest untilhis transfer to Moscow, Bakholdin was kept in a pre-trial detention center in Bryansk. On February 15, it became known that he was transferred to a special unit as “prone to escape.” In addition, the activist was accused of disseminating extremist ideas among prisoners, without specifying what these ideas were. The court extended Bakholdin's arrest until August 29.
• In 2015, the court sentenced Dadin to three years in prison for repeated violations of the procedure for holding public events (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code). He became the first person convicted in Russia under this article. In November 2016, Dadin reported the torture he suffered in the colony. In February 2017, the Supreme Court decided to close Dadin's case and release him.
