On Friday, a 14-minute plot about the hostage of the DPR Stanislav Aseeva, a Ukrainian journalist and writer from Donetsk, who has been withstanded militants on charges of spying, appeared on the propaganda channel of Russia-24. In an interview, Aseev admitted to cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence.

As the Radio Liberty notes , with which Aseev collaborated, in the plot of "Russia-24" the hostage was shown for the first time since the abduction.

The spokesman for Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe Joanna Levison, in connection with the advent of Aseev’s confessions, remarked : “We question the circumstances of this so-called confession. We have no information about when and under what circumstances it was done and whether we had a coercion. We still demand that Stanislav Aseev be released immediately.”

Aseeva is 29 years old. He is the author of the collection of stories and the novel "Melchion Elephant". Under the pseudonym, Vasin wrote reports from Donetsk for “Freedom” and Ukrainian media.

The journalist was kidnapped in early June 2017. Aseev’s mother last communicated with him on June 2; The next day, "Freedom" did not receive the expected message from the journalist. Subsequent attempts to get in touch with Aseev did not give a result. Meanwhile, traces of a search were discovered in the journalist’s apartment; The computer was gone, and personal accounts were hacked.

On July 16, 2017, it became known that Aseev "arrested in the case of espionage." Article 321 "Criminal Code of the DPR" provides for from 10 to 20 years of the colony, and in the presence of aggravating circumstances or in wartime - the death penalty with confiscation of property.

On June 28 of this year, the hostage announced a hunger strike due to unbearable conditions of content. As Firsov conveyed, the constantly monitoring the situation in which his friend fell, Aseev is in a damp room, is sick, but does not receive drugs. The former deputy reported about the problems with the journalist’s health in March.

On July 18, information appeared that the militants have been undergoing Aseev for some time forced feeding. Human rights activists equate forced feeding to torture.

At the same time, it became known that Aseev was extorting confessions on the camera, threatening in case of refusal to arrest his mother as an “accomplice” .

At that time, the militants began to publish on their sites the texts allegedly from Aseev’s diary, from which it follows as if a journalist, according to the instructions of the Ukrainian security forces, conducted intelligence activities. Meanwhile, Firsov placed on his Facebook several photos of Aseev’s true diary, which was seized during the search, but then he got to the former deputy - how he hinted, as a result of bribery. On the page, of which Firsov published, the poems of Aseev and brief remarks about impressions are recorded, including from the funeral of Motorola ("I have not seen anything like it before. Finally I saw the Soviet Union live"). The journalist does not mention any reconnaissance.
