Volkov attached to the tweet an email correspondence between the VKontakte security service and an employee of the E Center, from which it follows that law enforcement officers requested information without a court decision or an investigator’s order.
Center "E" was interested in the group "Team Navalny | Ufa”, remote group “28.01 Ufa chooses a strike”, as well as users Denis Korolev and Fedor Telin. In particular, Center “E” asked the social network for the time and date of creation of the pages, the phone number and e-mail of the owner of the page, as well as the IP addresses from which the page was created and from which users accessed it from January 1 to January 18.

The representative of VKontakte noted that the administration of the social network considers it necessary to improve the legislation.
In addition, according to him, interaction with law enforcement officers takes place officially, the security service of the social network always checks every request and requires the provision of all documents through official channels. An employee of the social network said that in this case, an official written request was also received.
He noted that inappropriately executed requests remain unanswered. Moreover, according to him, the legitimacy of the requests was challenged several times in court.
