Sergei Udaltsov, arrested for 30 days, was hospitalized from a special detention center

In Moscow, the coordinator of the "Left Front" Sergei Udaltsov, who was arrested for 30 days, was hospitalized in the city hospital No. 52. This is stated on his Twitter.

The activist was arrested on August 14, accused of “destroying portraits of persons resembling state leaders” at a rally against pension reform on July 28. Immediately after the court decision, Udaltsov went on a dry hunger strike.

The report states that Ivan Melnikov and Sergei Gusev, members of the Public Monitoring Commission of Moscow, visited the activist in special detention center No. 2.

Melnikov told TASS that Udaltsov was hospitalized "for medical reasons": "In our presence, the doctor measured his blood pressure, took an express blood test for sugar and decided on the need for urgent hospitalization, in our presence he was taken away by an ambulance."

The representative of the PMC added that the activist complained of pain in the kidneys. On Twitter, the politician says that the preliminary diagnosis that he was given is dehydration.

• On August 17, the Moscow City Court upheld the arrest of Udaltsov, who was charged under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event).
