Residents of the city of Berezovsky in the Sverdlovsk region, where a young man with a disability was killed on August 10, are planning to hold a rally. The collection of signatures will begin this evening.
As reported in the “City of Berezovsky” group on VKontakte, the participants of the action intend to create a public outcry in order to draw special attention to the crime.
The organizer of the rally, Anna Kremneva, told 66.RU that 500 people had already confirmed their participation. After collecting signatures, activists will submit an application to hold a rally to the city administration. The date has not yet been set.
In addition, a petition addressed to the Prosecutor General's Office has been created on the Change.org website. The authors demand that the criminals be punished. About three thousand people have already signed the appeal.
Four teenagers aged 14-16 are suspected of murdering a 20-year-old man with disabilities. First they asked the young man to buy them cigarettes, then they took him into garages, stripped him, severely beat him and threw him away. Death was due to traumatic brain injury. The beating was filmed on the phone.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim through negligence.”
