Witness in the “New Greatness” case denies connection with the intelligence services

A witness in the New Greatness case, identified in the materials as Ruslan D., told Dozhd that he does not work for the special services.

“I am not an employee, agent, informant of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the Investigative Committee, the Russian Guard, the prosecutor’s office and others, and in any other relationship, except as a witness in the case, I am not affiliated with these structures,” he told the publication. The man agreed to answer other questions from journalists only after he testified in court.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office reported that it did not find incitement in the New Greatness case.

• In the case of New Greatness, an organization created, judging by the case materials, by infiltrated employees, there are ten defendants. Four of them are now in pre-trial detention center, six are under house arrest.
• All ten people are accused of organizing the activities of an extremist community (Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). Moreover, the accusation is based on the testimony of three men who were not arrested. One of them said that he was introduced into the group on assignment. The interrogation protocols of these people were almost completely removed from the case materials. One of the three (Ruslan D. himself) wrote the organization’s charter, collected money, and rented premises for meetings. None of them were arrested.
• Ruslan Kostylenkov, whom investigators call the leader of the “New Greatness” organization, told POC member Evgeniy Enikeev that he was beaten and tortured with a bag during a search.
• Anna Pavlikova, who was not yet 18 years old at the time of her arrest, was threatened with violence . On July 31, it became known that the Honored Lawyer of Russia, a member of the Moscow Helsinki Group, Henry Reznik, had agreed to take part in her defense.
• Pavlikova’s lawyer Olga Karlova said that her client’s heart problems worsened in the pre-trial detention center, severe tachycardia and leg cramps developed. In June it became known that Pavlikova was transferred to a pre-trial detention center hospital. In July, the girl was admitted to a civil hospital for one day for examination.
• On August 7, Maria Dubovik was transferred to the hospital at the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. Her mothersaid that during an ultrasound in the pre-trial detention center, her daughter “was found by gynecology to have a tumor of unknown origin.” Dubovik’s lawyer Karinna Moskalenko reported that the girl’s vision had deteriorated significantly.
• On August 16, the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow transferred Anna Pavlikova and Maria Dubovik, defendants in the “New Greatness” case, to house arrest.
