The Moscow Regional Court approved a fine for a Left Bloc activist for filing a notice for a picket

The Moscow Regional Court upheld a fine to the coordinator of the Serpukhov branch of the "Left Bloc" Stanislav Kiryushkin, who was appointed for filing a notice to hold a picket against the pension reform. He himself informed OVD-Info about this.

Thus, the regional court approved the decision of the court of first instance, which fined the activist 10 thousand rubles, finding him guilty under part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event).

Kiryushkin said that he and his lawyer, Eduard Rudyk, intend to appeal the decision to the European Court of Human Rights.

Earlier, the activist told OVD-Info that on June 28 he filed a notice to hold a picket against the pension reform. On July 19, Kiryushkin received a summons demanding to appear at the police for questioning in an administrative case, without specifying what kind of situation he was talking about.

When the activist came to the department, he learned that a protocol had been drawn up against him on repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event.

The police officers explained that they did this due to the fact that under Article 20.2 (violation of the procedure for holding a public event), the activist already has two protocols. Therefore, according to them, he cannot be the organizer of the event, and filing a notice is enough to bring Kiryushkin to administrative responsibility.
