Krasnoyarsk: Six rallies were held in the city against pension reform

In Krasnoyarsk today, six rallies have been held against pension reform. They took place in different areas of the city, the Central District was the exception, where the mayor's office refused to coordinate the protest. In most performances, criticism of the Russian government, the State Duma and the President sounded. The representative of the Communist Party, Petr Medvedev, informed from the stage what it was necessary to ask each State Duma deputy why the law was not discussed with the population of Russia. He also stated that today, from the Legislative Assembly of the region to Moscow, a document was allegedly sent that 80% of the region’s population supported the raising of the retirement age.

The organizers of the protest stated that they intend to continue to conduct rallies and pickets against pension reform.

The Russian authorities want to increase the retirement age to 65 years for men and up to 63 years for women. Pension reform has already caused protests in dozens of cities of Russia. State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin previously stated that protest rallies will not help resolving issues related to pension reform. The bill has already passed the first reading in the lower house of the Russian parliament.
