In Kuban, the Investigative Committee opened a case after the death of a Moscow schoolboy from an unknown disease

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory opened a criminal case for causing death by negligence (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code) after the death of a Moscow schoolchild in a children's camp, according to the department's website.

The children and their counselors spent the night in tents on the camp grounds on August 21, and the next morning the 12-year-old Muscovite did not wake up. He was found in a sleeping bag with no signs of violent death.

“During the interview, the chief doctor of the camp explained that he did not seek medical help. According to preliminary data, death could have occurred as a result of a currently unknown disease. To establish the exact cause of death of the minor, a forensic medical examination was ordered, relatives and camp staff were interrogated, medical documentation of interest to the investigation was requested and studied,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

Investigators, in particular, intend to find out whether the child was examined before arriving at the camp and already in the camp. The case is under the control of the Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva, her representatives went to Kuban.
