The Prosecutor General's Office declared an American environmental organization a threat to Russia's security

as “undesirable,” The Prosecutor General's Office has recognized the American organization Pacific Environment ( PERC , Pacific Environmental and Natural Resources Center) according to the department’s website.

“It has been established that the work of the organization poses a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation and the security of the state,” writes the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The Pacific Center for Environment and Natural Resources was founded in 1987 in San Francisco. The main goal of the organization is to protect the environment and natural resources of the Pacific Ocean.

Over the past 20 years , PERC has worked with Russian environmentalists to empower people living in coastal regions to influence their environment. The organization advocates for sound and responsible fisheries management and environmental control of oil and other mineral extraction.
