Renat Kunashev, who died on August 23 as a result of a shootout with police in the center of Moscow, did not previously fall into the field of view of law enforcement agencies. The Investigative Committee published a video of what happened.

"At the moment, it was established that Kunashev is not registered, not before criminal liability was not previously prosecuted," an informed source told Interfax .

According to him, the investigation also does not have data on Kunashev’s connections with gangs or extremist organizations. “It is still extremely difficult to establish the reasons for what happened now,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.

He added that the shooter was fond of Islam - this follows both from his social networks and from the testimony of acquaintances. Whether he adhered to the traditional form of Islam, the investigation has not yet established.

An informed source told Interfax that the shooter had temporary registration in St. Petersburg and worked there in one of the chain stores.

The Investigative Committee on its YouTube channel published a video of the shootout.

Mash public on the VKontakte social network reports that, according to Kunashev’s mother, he worked in the same store in St. Petersburg for seven years, after which he decided to return to his homeland in Kabardino-Balkaria, but he could not find stable work there and went to work in Moscow.

The arrow mother also said that her son had a girlfriend, whom he sometimes sent gifts. He himself did not smoke or drank alcohol. In the capital, Kunashev was interrupted by part -time jobs, but until recently he had money regularly. According to the woman, problems arose only recently. In the last conversation with her, the young man said that he had nothing to buy a ram on Kurban-Bayram.

Investigators want to posthumously check the mental state of a man who shot at the police and appoint him a posthumous psychological and psychiatric examination, a law enforcement source told TASS.

Earlier, the source reported that at the time of the attack on the police, the man was inadequate.

On August 23, at 20:00, Kunashev opened fire on the police at the address: Sivtsev Street Bage, house 43, one police officer suffered. Kunashev was wounded by return fire and later died in the hospital. The Investigative Committee clarified that the man for no reason opened firing towards law enforcement officers who were in execution.

Law enforcement agencies specified the type of weapon from which the attacker shot, TASS reports with reference to a source in law enforcement.

"It was established that on August 23 at 19:50 at the address of the Sivtsevsi Sivtsev, 43 native of Kabardino -Balkaria Kunashev Rinat Arkadievich for no reason from the pneumatic weapons fired 10 times in the direction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of which the senior lieutenant of the police was injured," the source said.

The police fired in response six times and hit the attacker in the head. He was taken to the first city hospital, but the doctors failed to save his life. Employees who were fired at Kunashev were part of the Chili Embassy Police Department.

Several versions of the attack are considered, including an attempt to take possession of a police officer, hooliganism or inadequate behavior, possibly under the influence of drugs. On the fact of an encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officials, a criminal case has been instituted, according to the website of the Moscow headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It should be noted that at the end of June in Moscow, a young man attacked a police officer with a knife near the Building of the Slovak embassy and disappeared. The victim received at least seven stab wounds in the head and face and was hospitalized in a state of moderate severity. On the night of July 29, the suspect was detained , the Tver court sent him under the arrest until September 27.
