In Belgorod, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism monitored a married couple for nine months using a hidden camera installed in their apartment. It is reported by "Rain" with reference to the lawyer Anton Omelchenko.
The family is suspected of involvement in Jehovah's Witnesses. Permission to conduct filming to Center "E" was issued three times by the court for a period of three months.
“Law enforcement agencies installed hidden cameras in houses and recorded that they were praying. As a result, criminal cases are initiated. One of the cases in Belgorod simply struck me - a married couple was under surveillance around the clock for 9 months in a one-room apartment. Everything is really recorded in the case file: here they are watching TV, somehow spoke negatively about the authorities - they immediately make a note “Swearing at the authorities”. Everything is stenographed. For me, this is also a shock, ”Omelchenko told the publication.
Before the trial, the lawyer does not name the names of the married couple who were monitored. It is known that the family left Russia.
