On Elbrus, the remains of a climber, who is believed to have died in an avalanche 31 years ago, were found.
The body, according to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Karachay-Cherkessia, was discovered at an altitude of about 4 thousand meters by a group of tourists and reported to rescuers.
When the deceased was found, a passport in the name of Elena Konstantinovna Bazykina, born in 1951, a native of the city of Novaya Ladoga, Leningrad Region, as well as an air ticket from Moscow to Mineralnye Vody, dated April 10, 1987.
In the spring of 1987, in the area where the body was found, seven climbers fell under an avalanche. Elena Bazykina is so far the only one from this group who has been found, Interfax was told in the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
