In November 2017, when 27-year-old Kate McClour from New Jersey went to Philadelphia, she had gasoline, and the car stalled right in the middle of the highway. The homeless named Johnny Bobbit was unexpectedly helped from North Carolina, who was sitting on the road with a sign and asked for alms. He went to the nearest gas station and bought gasoline canister for the last $ 20. Bobbit was invariably polite, always thanked his benefactress and shared all the gifts with other homeless people. Then McClour decided to help him - and launched the campaign on the crowdfunding platform Gofundme. She wanted to raise 10 thousand dollars to help Bobbit rent housing and pay for the rent for several months until he finds work again.

The campaign raised more than 400 thousand dollars. But Bobbit has not yet received them - and he is again homeless

McClour helped her boyfriend Mark D` Amiko helped to help collect money. Until December, the amount exceeded 300 thousand dollars. By Christmas, it exceeded 400 thousand - then the collection ended.

Seeing how quickly the money acts and how much the amount exceeds the expected one, the collection organizers set a new goal - to buy Johnny Bobbit a house and a car that he always dreamed about - Ford Ranger 1999. McClour wrote that the remaining money will go to two different savings accounts to ensure the future of Bobbit. According to her, this plan "Johnny made together with a lawyer and a financial consultant." “He will never have to take care of whether he has a roof over his head,” wrote McClier and D` Amiko in updates on the campaign page.

According to Bobbit himself, there has never been any meeting with a lawyer. As there was no purchase of a house with a car.

McClour and D'Amiko say that Bobbit spent money on drugs, so they stopped helping him

Several times from the date of the campaign on the Gofundme, the bobbit got into the rehabilitation center and ran away from the house to be on the street again. D'Amiko claims that the house on wheels and pickups were sold because Bobbit wanted to leave New Jersey for the proceeds. According to Bobbit, after the sale of Damiko refused to give him money and ordered him to leave.

D'Amiko says that he is not going to give Bobbit money until he gets rid of addiction and finds a job. According to him, to give such a lot of money to the drug addict - "It's like handing him a charged pistol." “I better burn this money in front of his eyes,” admits DʼAmiko.

Bobbit believes that McClour and DʼAmiko spent collected money on travel and gambling

The homeless claims that D` Amiko has dependence on gambling. He says that when he lived in a van near the house of young people, D'amiko spent more time in an online casino than at work.

D'Amiko, in turn, admits that he is fond of gambling, but assures that he only once borrowed $ 500 from the amount collected for Bobbit - and then quickly returned the money.

Bobbit, in addition, considers it suspicious that McClour, which works at the reception in the New Jersey transport company, can afford the new BMW, which she recently acquired. D'amiko refused to provide extracts from his bank account, because he "does not belong to Bobbit." For Bobbit, he said, the account was opened only on August 22.
