In Vologda, an HIV-positive girl who bit a policeman was convicted

A court in Vologda sentenced a 16-year-old HIV-positive girl to a 1.5-year suspended sentence for biting a police officer on the hand, according to the website of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.

The incident occurred on the night of March 9 on Chekhov Street, where police found a drunk girl who had escaped from a boarding school. SK writes that while trying to escape, she scratched a policeman and bit his hand, which caused him “physical pain and created a threat of contracting HIV infection.”

The girl was found guilty of using violence against a police officer that was dangerous to life and health (Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). In addition to the suspended sentence, the judge also ordered her to pay the victim 10 thousand rubles.
