The Ministry of Justice has prepared a document on nutritional standards for pregnant women and children in pre-trial detention centers

The Ministry of Justice presented a draft departmental order that would restore increased nutritional standards for pregnant women and minors in pre-trial detention centers. The document has been published for public comment.

The norms proposed by the department duplicate the list , which previously applied only to convicted persons, but not to suspects and accused persons. The Ministry of Justice document describes a complete special daily diet for pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, the disabled and the sick.

Until April 2018, the diet of pregnant women and children was established by government decree. In August, women in Moscow pre-trial detention centers complained of being deprived of additional food due to changes in regulations. After this, the Ministry of Justice promised that, in accordance with the government decree, it would develop new standards.
