A participant of “Protest Kuzbass” was detained in connection with a damaged election banner

In Novokuznetsk, police detained Fyodor Reguzov, a participant in “Protest Kuzbass.” Movement coordinator Lev Ghammer reported this to the hotline.

OVD-InfoGammer said that the police stopped Reguzov on the street and tried to serve a summons in the case of defacing the election banner of one of the candidates for mayor of the city. Law enforcement officials said that if Reguzov resists during arrest, force will be used against him, the movement coordinator reports. Then he was taken to the Central police department.

According to the interlocutor, the detainee is involved in the case as a witness. Gämmer added that law enforcement officers did not specify which candidate’s election banner they were talking about.

OVD-InfoPolice, according to Gammer, told the activist that they had previously come to his home.

A few hours before the incident, the police detained Gammer himself, who was planning to travel by train to Kemerovo. The reason for the arrest was this similar case of defacing a banner, in which Gämmer is a witness. He said police told him the banner was in the same area where he lives.

Deputy coordinator of “Protest Kuzbass” Mila Zemtsova reported that the activist was under surveillance from his home to the station.
