• The largest model, the successor of the current flagship X, is an iPhone with an OLED display with a diagonal of 6.5 inches, a glass rear panel with two chambers and a stainless steel metal frame. The working name of the model is D33. The main novelty of the model’s software will be the opportunity to view the content of two applications (for example, mail and calendar) on one screen. It will differ in higher performance and a better camera. Apple will also offer a more compact version of this model, with a diagonal of 5.8 inches (working name - D32).
• Perhaps the most important novelty will be a new more affordable smartphone that will replace the iPhone 8. A model with a working name N84 will be outwardly similar to the current iPhone X, but it will have a larger screen with a 6.1 -inch diagonal, an aluminum frame and a cheaper screen (LCD instead of OLED). This model will be presented in several colors.
• All three models will be equipped with a control system using gestures (instead of a traditional Home button) and a Face ID unlock system. In some regions, Apple first plans to equip two larger models with a connector for the second SIM card.
• In addition to the iPhone, this year (not necessarily at the same presentation in September), updated AirPods wireless headphones, AirPower wireless charger, a new Apple Watch with a larger screen and partially updated iPad tablets will be presented. The latter will be released in two versions - with diagonals of 11 and 12.9 inches. They also have a Face ID instead of a home button and Touch ID.
• The launch of a wider product line shows that the company adjusts its market strategy, Bloomberg notes. Today, Apple seeks not to attract millions of new buyers, but to gradually increase the average check - and this turns out: it is the growth of the average price of the iPhone that provided the company with good reporting for the first half of 2018.
