The head of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, Alexander Shestun, who was arrested on charges of abuse of office, at the insistence of doctors, stopped the hunger strike. This is reported by TASS with reference to his wife Yulia Shestun.
Shestun said that on August 30, for the first time since her arrest, she was allowed to see her husband, who is in the hospital of the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. She noted that the arrested person looks bad and has lost 20 kilograms. “At the insistence of the doctors, my husband began to slowly come out of his hunger strike, drink juices,” she told the agency. The woman also added that Alexander Shestun is “ready to continue the fight,” as he considers his arrest illegal.
