The Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol extended until November 7 the arrest of Enver Seytosmanov, accused of participating in Hizb ut-Tahrir (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). This is stated on the page of the public association “Crimean Solidarity” on Facebook.
The meeting was held behind closed doors. Seytosmanov's brother Ernes was allowed in to hear the judge's decision.
Previously, the lawyer of the arrested person said that his client had health problems in the pre-trial detention center.
Brothers Enver and Ernes Seytosmanov were detained on May 10 during searches in the village of Orlinoye, Balaklava district of Sevastopol. Later, Ernes was released, and a criminal case was opened against Enver under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
The Seytosmanovs are cousins of Nuri Primov, a defendant in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case in Crimea.
Enver Seytosmanov is included in the “Sentsov List” - a list of political prisoners whose release the convicted director demands. OVD-Info has collected known information about 88 people associated with Ukraine and persecuted by Russian authorities. Among these people there are both those deprived of liberty and those sentenced to suspended sentences, which means their movements are limited.
