Shooting occurred at a meeting with a gubernatorial candidate in the Moscow region

In the village of Mekhovo, Sergiev Posad district, Moscow region, during a meeting with the candidate for the post of governor of the region from the Green Alliance, Liliya Belova, shooting occurred, TASS was told at the candidate’s headquarters. No harm done.

“When the meeting was coming to an end, a Gazelle drove into the crowd with people. She was followed by a passenger car, from which several shots were fired towards the candidate. Belova wrote a statement to the police about the attack on her,” the headquarters said.

On the VKontakte page of Belova’s supporters , it is clarified that the Gazelle contained workers who were preparing a site for the construction of a waste processing plant and landfill. A foreign car was driving behind this car, from which they were shot several times with a traumatic weapon.

Later, the police told the agency that they had detained the person who carried out the shooting. He turned out to be a resident of Yaroslavl. A protocol was drawn up against him for firing weapons in places not designated for this purpose (Article 20.13 of the Administrative Code).
