In order for the cult of the dictator to establish himself, people must be obliged to participate in it, as it was in the USSR under Stalin, in China under Mao, in Germany under Hitler. One propaganda is not enough. Need terror. No one should dare to scream: "The king is naked."

The man of the Stalin era understood that he would simply be destroyed if he refused to portray love for the leader. In this situation, he preferred to sincerely love a tyrant than to rape himself every time, imitating an orgasm. Already under Khrushchev, the situation has changed. Without mass terror from the cult, a zilch turned out. No matter how much the film "Dear Nikita Sergeyevich" was spinning on the country's screens, the people openly made fun of the "corner". The more actively the authorities tried to impose the cult of the personality of Brezhnev, the stronger the population mocked him.

This fate is probably waiting for Putin. Propaganda by the power to ensure the loyalty of the population to the dictator, but other, more powerful means are needed to form a real cult of his personality. Mass terror, similar to Stalinsky, is hardly possible today. So, forcibly to turn people to the "cult of Putin" will not be able to. The obsessive, nauseous and horseman praises of the "national leader", not supported by fear in front of him, can cause only increasing rejection in people. In the end, Putin, quite likely, will become the same universal whisper as the late Brezhnev. "
