The European Union condemned the Russian authorities for the dispersal of shares on September 9

The detentions, arrests and beating of shares against pension reform on September 9 prevented the implementation of freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and associations, the representative of the European diplomatic service Maya Kosyankich said .

The diplomat reminded that these rights are enshrined in both the Russian Constitution and in the universal declaration of human rights. “In the same way, the detention of a number of journalists violates the freedom of expression; free media are necessary and must be protected,” Kosyankich added.

"The European Union expects from the Russian authorities to comply with international obligation, including those taken on the Council of Europe and the OSCE, compliance with these fundamental rights, and the urgent liberation of peaceful demonstrators and journalists," concludes a representative of European diplomacy.

The shares against pension reform were held on September 9 at the appeal of Alexei Navalny in dozens of Russian cities and were agreed only in four of them. In all major cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, rallies were banned. Even before rallies, 16 activists were arrested in fabric administrative cases. At least 1195 people were detained on promotions throughout Russia, according to the evening of September 10. Of these, more than 623 demonstrators were in St. Petersburg. In Yekaterinburg, the police were taken to less than 185 detainees. The third place was taken by Krasnodar (60 detainees), the fourth - Moscow (48), the fifth - Omsk (43). In Nizhny Novgorod, the three participants in the Sunday action were detained and drew up administrative protocols on them on Monday, after which they left the police in the police department.

The day before, in a number of regions, the courts appointed administrative arrests to some detained demonstrators.

Against the two participants of the Moscow campaign - 24 -year -old Viktor Fedoseyev and 36 -year -old Vasily Kostylev - are being fabricated in Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (the use of non -hazardous violence to a representative of the authorities), which provides for up to five years of the colony. Both were charged with attacks on police officers. Both Fedoseev and Kostylev refuse to testify. On Monday, they were to be sent to a pre -trial detention center.
