The duration of the summer shutdown of hot water can be reduced to three days in a year, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation Andrei Chibis said in an interview with Kommersant . According to him, in a number of large sections of several cities it has already been possible to reduce the time for turning off hot water to three days.

“We will practice for another year in more cities, and then we plan to legally establish new deadlines for turning off hot water,” the official said. Today, the standard period for summer shutdown of hot water in Russia is 14 days, in Moscow it is 10 days .

Earlier, First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov also stated that the Moscow authorities want to reduce the period for turning off hot water in the summer to five days, and in 2008 they promised to reduce the period to 4 days. True, an experiment conducted in 2008 in South Butovo revealed that public utilities are not yet ready for such deadlines.

Residents of the area were promised that their hot water would be turned off for only 1-2 days, but Butovo residents sat without hot water for as long as other Muscovites . Subsequently, representatives of MOEK stated that it would be possible to reduce the shutdown time to three days only after updating all pipelines .
